-Ok, tell me your full name?
Full name? Everything.. eh..I say it like in my language. Evelien Annick Elisa Bouilliart. (or something like that)
-How old are you?
I’m 15, almost 16.
-When’s your birthday?
30th of January 1990
-Ok, I’ll send you a card then
Haha...
-How long have you been skateboarding?
Almost 6 years.
-How did you start skateboarding?
Well…I was rollerblading first. But I wasn’t really rollerblade because I was scared of the boys that were there. We only had a ramp but then they were building a skatepark and I saw all the guys with skateboards, so I wanted a skateboard too. So I asked my mom for a skateboard and I got one. But one of the toy store ones.
-What is your mom’s opinion of skateboarding?
She doesn’t really like to watch me skate because she’s scared that I fall but she like really proud of me and that I can travel and get clothes and shoes and stuff. She’s cool with it.
-What is your ordinary week like?
Like, go to school, try to skate when I can and just like watch TV and be on the computer and stuff, nothing special
-How was your last summer; you also visited USA and took the 2nd place in X-Games?
Yeah, my summer was really nice! I went to a lot of Etnies camps and also to X-Games, because I was invited, and I got 2nd. But in the end of the vacation I twisted my ankle in Basel. But it was cool.
-How long did it take for your ankle to recover?
I guess it took a while, I can’t really remember. Maybe a month?
-How much do you skate during winter?
During the winter. I try to go to the skatepark every weekend. So I try to do it as much as I can.
-With whom do you skate usually?
Just with my friends from Belgium. Mostly with boys, all my friends are going to the skatepark because it’s close.
-In which city do you live in Belgium?
Aalter
-It`s like a small town?
Yeah, pretty small
-Do you have a good skatepark there?
Oh, no no. They took it away. Like one and half years ago, because we skated on other stuff.
If I want to skate, I need to take a train. It’s almost one or one and a half hour trip to get to the park. So it’s a long way to go there and back but I like it so much.
-What do you think about this Pop session contest?
Well..eh..first; the park is, like, more for the bikes, but I like it. Just to hang around and meet other people. It’s pretty cool.
-So this is your first time here in Estonia?
Yeah, it’s my first time.
-Have you been in Eastern Europe before?
Yeah well, I’ve been to Prague. But it’s my first time here.
-Tell me, how did you like that girls contest in Basel last summer?
Like how they did the contest? I think it was kind of different. We got a jam..first you had a run and then a jam. I liked it, because in the runs you could just do a lot of stuff. And the prices are better and better..
-What do you think about the level of skateboarding among the female skaters?
Well..I`ve heard that more girls are starting skating and I really like it! More girls trying to do bigger stuff, like rails and shit (naurua)! It`s cool to see other girls do that stuff too.
-At contest, do you ever compete with boys?
I used to compete with boys all the time in Belgium but not when I’m traveling. Because I just travel for the girls contests. And this year, I’ve been just competing with other girls. It’s a long time since I’ve competed with boys, I should start again!
-Are you happy to start your contest for 2006 here?
Oh yeah..It`s cool. There’s not really that much contests in beginning of year so it’s cool.
-So you won’t forget skateboarding during wintertime.
Yeah, it’s cool that someone organizes these things, because there’s not much to do during winter.
-What are your plans for this year?
In February I’ll probably go to Australia but I also have to look at my school stuff and in the summer I’ll probably go to the States again. Some other contest..the Etnies-contest. I don’t know... Camps and stuff.
-Ok, thank you for the interview! I wish you good luck and enjoy skateboarding!!
You’re welcome
